The Beholder The Boulder
In July 2021, Spindleworks Artists collaborated with Dyer on The Beholder The Boulder. They invited the public to join them in creating a collaborative sculpture though the act of wrapping a tying to a wire armature in the shape of a boulder. They also created a performance about the sculpture, what it is, where it is, and the transformative powers of imaginative description. The work culminated in a procession down Water St., invoking the boulder and inviting the public to behold. In October 2021, they brought the sculpture together with documentation of the event and their process leading up to it, and invited the community to continue participating in the work.
